DATABASE TABLE FOR ONLINE EXAMINATION PROJECT

Examination! Online exam has certain process to implement. A Candidate gives exam after his/her identification. Same thing will happen here in this project.

Ok , here two different approach can be use for providing username and password as credential for student.

First one is -

 Admin will provide username and password for candidate so that they can login and start exam. Here "username and password" will work as admit card before examination.

In second approach-

 User itself will register and will get password.In this approach candidate or student has to register before appearing in the online exam web portal.

If we think exam as an event then there are five major things will come on the way . So there are following points to be consider .

1. Candidate(A candidate is a student in exam.)

2. Exam Paper(Exam paper means questions for students.)

3. Candidate answers(Candidate Answers means student's answer key or OMR )

4. Correct answers(Answers of all questions provided by examiner after exam completion.)

5. Score after result(Checking answers key given by students.)

Either you are going to develop a small online examination system or a huge project for online examination this guide will help you extremely.

There may be various ways to happen an online exam . But you will notice that database structure never change until , major changes happen.

Note: Point number 2. and 4. may combine and use as single table because questions with answers in single table may manage easily.

So finally , four base tables can be used to create a Online Examination System.

1. User Registration Table

User registration table contains 10 fields , as shown in above snapshot.

First column is reg_id. It is auto increment and primary field. Then students's first name,last name and father's name.You may extend above table according to your project requirement.You can add mobile number in above table. Remaining fields are self explanatory.

2. Test Paper Table (with answer )

Question paper table will contain question id , question itself , four choices , correct_answer  and more fields. Test_series column has major roll in above table. All questions having same test series are co-related. A question may has different marks so question_marks field is used.If any question has hint, then hint column will be used.

3. Answers Table

Answers table contains all answers given by  an examinee. Contains question id which is answered. Answer choice itself and candidate id . Here question_id and candidate_id_fk are foreign keys.

4. Score Table

Score Table is additionally  created. You may skip this . But for systematic work you have to use score table also.

This project surely will need of admin section. But in point of view of database there is not more separate tables required. Admin is responsible for adding question and answer . He has full control over exam process.

Admin can see all states of students performance data.

If we talk about admin related table then admin credential table will created by developer.

This table will contain admin username and password data .
